From obscure references to bizarre phrases, we’re breaking down the weirdest and most confusing cards across the Cards Against Humanity packs and its expansions.

“An Oedipus complex.” A term created by Sigmund Freud. In simple terms, it describes a child feeling unconsciously attracted to the opposite-sex parent while seeing the same-sex parent as a rival.

• “Pixelated bukkake.” Pixelated means an image is blurred or broken into visible pixels. Bukkake is a sexual act where several men ejaculate on one person. So, the phrase basically means that act shown with pixelation or censorship.
• “Seppuku.” A traditional form of ritual suicide once practiced by samurai in Japan, usually involving a sword. It was historically seen as a way to preserve honor.
• “Leprosy.” Also called Hansen’s disease, leprosy is a bacterial infection that mainly affects the skin and nerves. If untreated, it can cause serious nerve damage, weakness, and other complications.
• “Smegma.” A natural buildup of oils, dead skin cells, and moisture around the genitals. It can occur in both males and females, especially in skin folds.
• “Synergistic management solutions.” A business-style phrase meaning different people or strategies working together to improve results and make a company more efficient.

• “PrEP.” Short for pre-exposure prophylaxis, a medication that helps prevent HIV.
• “Hutus and Tutsis.” Two ethnic groups mainly associated with Rwanda and Burundi, including the 1994 Rwandan genocide.
• “Heteronormativity.” The belief that heterosexuality is the normal or expected sexuality.
• “Necrophilia.” Sexual attraction to dead bodies.
