UNO All Wild: The Deck Of The Unbelievable Twist.

UNO All Wild - Cover Photo

To be fair, wild cards are what make each UNO deck way more engaging and change the game flow excitingly. The good news is that 2 years ago, in 2022, they made a deck where all cards are wild! And this is where it might get confusing… Do the rules change? Is there any new card included? Could it get boring dealing with cards that belong to the same category every time? That and much more information will be explained right below.

The Box & Cards of the New UNO All Wild

UNO is known for its colorful box and card design, and this All Wild deck doesn’t stand aside either.

UNO All Wild - Front of the Box

The front of the box shows everything you should get at first sight: the huge game name, a short sentence to explain what’s in the deck, some cards preview, and of course, as always, the main rules: age range, and number of players that can play at once. The base color is black, considering that all wild cards have a black backdrop, even in other editions. There are a few foil details used too, which reflect when there’s light.

UNO All Wild - Back of the Box

There’s too much written in the back of this card game, but it’s not really worth sharing. The only helpful things on this side of the box are the card examples and content, as well as some explanations of simple rules. Half of it is full of information about the manufacturer, which most of the time goes unnoticed.

UNO All Wild brings a deck of 112 cards, and specifically, there are 54 regular Wild cards, 14 Skip cards, 4 Swap Hands cards, 4 Target +2 cards, 6 +4 cards, 10 +2 cards, 14 Reverse cards, and 6 Double Skip cards.

self-explanatory, but, more on that later. For all our curious fellas, here’s what the cards in this edition look like:

UNO All Wild Rules

UNO All Wild can be played by 2 to 10 people, aged 7+. If you’ve ever played UNO, you know that the gameplay time can never be specified: it can last 15 minutes, but 4 hours too! Back on track, there’s no standard UNO card, which means there is no need for matching cards in value or color. But, how is it played though?

  • The player to the dealer’s left starts first and plays any card, then the game continues clockwise. Since all cards are wild, everyone will play a card on their round.
  • Regular Wild cards: Are played normally, without any special action;
  • Wild Skip cards: The next player misses their turn.
  • Wild Swap Hands cards: You swap hands with a player of your choice.
  • Wild Target +2 cards: A player of your choice draws 2 cards.
  • Wild +4 cards: The next player in turn draws 4 cards;
  • Wild +2 cards: The next player in turn draws 2 cards;
  • Wild Reverse cards: The game direction reverses;
  • Wild Double Skip cards: The next 2 players skip their turn.

Honest Thoughts on UNO All Wild

I bet every one of you has played UNO with kids, and they tend to just throw a card even if it doesn’t match, and you just had to be fine with it. Gladly, in this UNO All Wild, they can do that because that’s how the game works! No one will have to skip their turns because they don’t have any cards to play (unless they’ve been skipped), and since there are no numbers used, even kids who are younger than 8 can understand and enjoy the game.

We have heard that people like to mix the UNO All Wild with other decks, such as the standard game or UNO Show ‘Em No Mercy, in case it sounds too much having a full deck of all wild cards, so, that’s an idea to try.

However, to be honest with you, I feel like we’re kinda missing the original idea of UNO in this deck, which is matching colors or values. Also, it may not hold a big interest as an adult game, since it feels like a deck of too many good things. However, speaking of experience, it’s such a blast if played with the little ones, kids, or grandkids, and brings some fun family time, off-screen for a while!
