Have you ever wondered what happens after you play Cards Against Humanity so many times that you memorize all the cards, and use all possible combinations?

Well, you find better alternatives. And we know that compared to CAH, nothing sounds like a good replacement, but the list of games below proves it wrong. It includes 8 games like Cards Against Humanity that bring the same vibe with unique features.

1. Apples To Apples

Apples To Apples

Ages 12+ | 4 to 8 players | Gameplay of 30 minutes;

Apples to Apples is the OG, created even earlier than CAH, in 1999. It has similar game rules to Cards Against Humanity, but the content is kid & teen-friendly.

The idea of the game is that after a green apple card with a description word is played, everyone has to play their best red apple card that they think makes the best combination. And how do you win? By collecting 4 green cards in your hand!

2. Bad People

Bad People

Ages 17+ | 3 to 10 players | Gameplay of 20 to 60 minutes;

Bad People is a voting game but with a little drama included. Like Cards Against Humanity, this game also has a judging mechanism. Chiefly, one player is the Dictator who must read the question out loud, and vote secretly for the players, after all players have voted as well.

Whoever votes the same as the Dictator, gets one point! If you want to have your own session of Bad People, without getting the game, make sure to read our 110 Bad People questions

3. What Do You Meme?

What Do You Meme

Ages 17+ | 3 to 20+ players | Gameplay of 30 to 90 minutes;

Now, instead of matching prompts with one another, you have to make a combination of a caption and a viral picture! The gameplay goes just like Cards Against Humanity: a rotating judge plays a picture card, and everyone else has to respond with a caption they think makes the most hilarious combo.

If the judge picks your card, you get one point! But remember, games like What Do You Meme are just as fun too!

4. Snake Oil

Snake Oil

Ages 10+ | 3 to 10 players | Gameplay of 20 to 30 minutes;

One thing that Snake Oil and Cards Against Humanity have in common is that they’re very replayable, but, differently, Snake Oil’s theme is very specific! The latter is about developing product pitches and creating a 2-word product, but depending on the customer.

Obviously, there has to be a judge who picks the best product pitch of the round, and that player gets to keep the customer card as a point!

5. Bring Your Own Book

Bring Your Own Book

Ages 12+ | 2 to 8+ players | Gameplay of 45 to 90 minutes;

If you like CAH, but definitely not its dirty content, and would prefer something more artistic, this is the one! Bring Your Own Book is the game where you draw prompts from the deck, but you don’t answer with a white card!

Instead, you (the Seekers) race to find the best phrases in your favorite books, to create the best combination with the prompt of the round. The judge is called ‘the Picker’, and they give the point to their favorite answer, indeed.

6. Decrypto

Decrypto

Ages 12+ | 3 to 8 players | Gameplay of 30 minutes;

In Decrypto, just like in Cards Against Humanity, verbal creativity is the key, but, in this one, you must play in teams. The idea of the game is that one of the teammates becomes the encryptor (in both teams), and gives a one-word clue for each number on the code card.

Then, the other teammates guess the code based on the given clues. But, be careful, even the other team can hear your clues, guess the codes, and win!

7. Telestrations

Telestrations

Ages 12+ | 4 to 8 players | Gameplay of 10 to 15+ minutes;

Everyone who appreciates the fact that CAH relies on subjectivity and interpretation, would absolutely enjoy Telestrations too. Everyone gets a word, writes that down on the first page, and on the second page, sketches it (no words or numbers allowed).

Then, all of you pass sketchbooks clockwise and guess the sketch that came to you. This keeps getting repeated until you get your sketchbook back, and you do the big reveal: show how the word evolved from the first page.

8. Say Anything

Say Anything

Ages 13+ | 3 to 8 players | Gameplay of 30 minutes;

In Say Anything, just like in Cards Against Humanity, there’s no right or wrong answer, but there’s a judge! This rotating judge will read one question per round, and everyone will write down their answers – they could be funny, cute, or really deep.

Then, the judge secretly picks their favorite answer, and everyone guesses the chosen one. Depending on how correct you were in your guessing, you get the points!

Final Thoughts

It’s proved already that Cards Against Humanity’s spot in our hearts is irreplaceable. But, we’ve found more options to lighten up your game nights, while using party games that bring the same hilarious energy, in absolutely fresh ways.

All you have to do is decide what you’re looking forward to: brutally honest editions, family-friendly or artistic ones (like the ones with the books or drawings).
